Hair Dye Allergies Increasing

Hair Dye allergy symptoms are on the rise over the last few years, well the actual percent of people who have dye related allergies may not of gone up the number of people using permanent and semi permanent dye has risen sharply causing a increase in reports of hair dye allergies and sensitivities.

What was once reserved for the 40 years and over club is now being used by more and more younger people as a fashion trend and highlights are becoming common. The vanity of the world we live in has more people than ever scrambling to cover up grey, including men. Watch any sports event on the weekend any you will no doubt see mens hair care ads mixed in with all the beer commercials.

I do use dye products at home from time to time and the brand I buy has extensive warning about hair dye allergy symptoms on the package and warns anyone trying the product to do a patch test before using their dye. A 48 hour patch test should be done every time prior to use even if you tested negative for any allergy symptoms previously.

Most dye products contain extensive instructions about their use and need to be read and followed, something I must admit to being guilty of not doing in the past and though I did not experience any related allergies my result were not what they should or could of been.

If you think you maybe suffering from hair dye allergy symptoms its important to see your doctor right away and get treatment. Symptoms range from minor to severe and life threatening Of course if you experience any allergy symptoms well applying hair dye or well doing the 48 hour patch test discontinue use of the product right away.
